What the app stores

Everything you enter — the people you track, their dates, the moments you record, and your settings — is written to a single file inside the app's own container on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere, because the app has no means to transmit anything. The released build links no networking frameworks.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal information. There is no sign-up, no email address, and no identifier of any kind.

Backups

You can export an encrypted backup of your data. It is encrypted on your device with a password only you know, using AES-GCM with a key derived by PBKDF2. Where you then keep that file is entirely your choice. We never receive it and could not open it if we did — the password is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. No push notification service is used, and no device token is created or sent.

Third parties

There are none. The app contains no third-party SDKs, no trackers, no advertising, and no attribution or analytics frameworks.

Mortality data

The life tables behind the estimates are bundled inside the app and read locally. They come from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2024, used under CC BY 3.0 IGO. Country names come from Unicode CLDR. Nothing is fetched at runtime, and no lookup you make is observable by anyone.

What the developer can see

Nothing about you. Apple provides aggregate, anonymous sales and crash statistics for the App Store listing itself; that is a function of the App Store rather than of this app, and it identifies nobody.

Children

Tail End is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated date at the top of this page will change with it.
