The short version: Anchor does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data. Location and motion processing happens entirely on your iPhone.

Information used on your device

Anchor uses location, compass heading, altitude and motion information to save positions and guide you back to them. This processing happens entirely on your iPhone. Sensor readings are not transmitted to Freyr Helgason or any third party.

Saved anchors

Saved anchors can contain a name, category, note, coordinates and timestamp. They are stored only on your device using iOS file protection and are excluded from iCloud and local backups.

Accounts, analytics and advertising

Anchor has no account system, backend service, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking technology or third-party data integration. The app makes no network requests.

Permissions

Location access is used only while Anchor is in use. Motion & Fitness access is used for pedestrian dead reckoning when satellite positioning is obstructed. You can change either permission in iOS Settings.

Deleting your data

You can delete saved anchors from inside the app. Removing Anchor from your iPhone deletes its locally stored anchors and app data.

Children

Anchor does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If Anchor's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy declaration will be updated before the changed version is released.
