1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SkyRoad ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SkyRoad provides weather forecasts, road condition information, aurora predictions, and travel safety features for Iceland. The App aggregates data from third-party sources including:

Icelandic Meteorological Office (Vedurstofa Islands)
Icelandic Road Administration (Vegagerdin)
NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center
GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences
Gasvaktin (fuel price data)

3. Important Disclaimers

3.1 Not a Safety System

THE APP IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR OFFICIAL EMERGENCY WARNINGS, PROFESSIONAL WEATHER SERVICES, OR COMMON SENSE.

Weather conditions can change rapidly and without warning
Road conditions may differ from displayed information
Aurora forecasts are predictions, not guarantees
Always check official sources before travel in hazardous conditions

3.2 Data Accuracy

Weather and road data is provided by third-party sources
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data
Information may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors
Real-world conditions may differ from app displays

3.3 Guardian Angel Feature

The Guardian Angel monitoring feature is a convenience tool only. It is NOT:

A replacement for emergency services (112 in Iceland)
A guaranteed safety system
Able to detect all hazards or emergencies

            Always inform someone of your travel plans and carry appropriate safety equipment.
        

3.4 Fuel Prices

Fuel prices are provided by Gasvaktin and may not reflect current prices at all stations. Prices can change without notice.

4. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

Use the App at your own risk
Not rely solely on the App for safety-critical decisions
Comply with all applicable laws while using the App
Not use the App while driving (have a passenger operate it)
Verify important information through official sources
Maintain your own safety equipment and emergency plans

5. Location Services

The App requires location access to provide localized weather and safety features. By enabling location services, you consent to:

Real-time location processing for weather and alerts
Background location access for Guardian Angel and Daily Drive features (if enabled)
Temporary location sharing when you explicitly use the Trip Sharing feature

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 App Content

The App, including its design, code, and original content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Third-Party Data

Weather data, road information, and other content sourced from third parties remains the property of their respective owners. We display this data under applicable terms and licenses.

6.3 Open Source

Portions of the App may use open-source software. Relevant licenses are available within the App.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DECISIONS MADE BASED ON APP INFORMATION
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INJURIES, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LOSSES RELATED TO APP USE

YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the App developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use or misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights

9. Service Availability

The App may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App or its data sources
Third-party data sources may become unavailable without notice

10. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the App for any user who violates these Terms or uses the App inappropriately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Iceland.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
